Conducting

Raymond Horvat started conducting while in undergraduate where he studied with Dr. Gary Ziek and got the honor to conduct the Emporia State Wind Ensemble. Raymond has also had the honor to conduct and rehearse the Emporia State High School Honors Band. Raymond then went on to teach public school where he got the opportunity to conduct the Council Grove High School Band, Middle School Band, and assist with the Community Band. In his masters at Boston University, Raymond has been a student conductor with the Boston University Concert Band. RJ has had the opportunity to work at Boston University Tanglewood Institute as the Wind Ensemble Librarian and Assistant Manager, where he worked with H. Robert Reynolds. He is currently studying conducting with Dr. Jennifer Bill, and talking classes with David Martins. In 2023, he will be attending workshops at Eastman with Dr. Mark Scatterday, and Dr. Donald Hunsberger.
